1. Will your dish work with DirecTV® and Dish Network®?
Yes. Our Marine-Sat® dish will receive DirecTV® and Dish Network®.
2. How do I set up service with DirecTV® or Dish Network®?
Once your equipment is connected and your dish aimed, simply call DirecTV® (1-800-DIRECTV) or Dish Network® (800-333-3474 ). After answering a few questions, they will have your programming up and running before you hang up!
3. What type of receiver can I use with the Marine-Sat® systems?
You can use any receiver that is compatible with DirecTV® or Dish Network®. The Marine-Sat® will not work with HD (High Definition) receivers.
4. What are the coverage areas?
The Continental United States.
5. How many televisions can I operate with the Marine-Sat® systems?
With the standard dual LNB and a second receiver, two televisions can view different programming at the same time.
6. How can I mount my Marine-Sat®?
There are three mounts available for the Marine-Sat® systems - a Multi-Clamp mount, a Fixed mount and a Suction mount. The mount that you use will depend on your boat. The fixed mount can be permanently attached to a piling or a place on your boat. The Multi-clamp mount is used on a railing. The suction mount can be attached to a hatch or any smooth, flat surface. All of these mounts are included in the Marine-Sat® Deluxe Kit.
7. Can I mount my Marine-Sat®inside my boat?
No. The dish needs a clear view of the southern sky without obstructions.
8. Can I use the Marine-Sat® at anchor?
The Marine-Sat® is for use at the dock. It will tolerate normal marina wakes and tide changes with no disruption to your picture.
9. Can I leave my Marine-Sat® equipment mounted while running?
We recommend that you remove the dish from the Marine-Sat® while underway so that you do not lose your dish. If you have used the rail or suction mounts to attach your unit to the boat, we suggest that you remove these also.
10. Can I extend the cables on equipment?
Yes. The cable that runs from the LNB to the receiver is RG-6 cable - you must have a direct run with no split in the cable. It can be extended up to 100 feet.
